Bhi Bhiman is a young singer/songwriter from St. Louis, MO. People often ask about his name which comes from Bhima, the Hindu God of War. His parents are Sri Lankan Tamils who overcame incredible odds to emigrate to the US in the 1960's. Their perseverance in the face of adversity has greatly molded Bhi's personality as well as his songwriting. Many of his lyrics deal with struggle and injustice, however, he often delivers them with a dose of levity. While one line might cause an outburst of laughter, the next may create a contemplative silence. Never preachy, but observant in his story-telling style, which resonates with his voice and guitar.

"It only makes good sense that the next great American folk hero/political voice is a very un-white, first-generation Sri-Lankan American. Bhi Bhiman (bee-bee-man) is arguably the wittiest and angriest person to pick up a guitar in the last 30 years and wield it like an aural hatchet aimed at chopping the head off all thatís wrong in the world."
